The National Commission for Further and Higher Education (NCFHE) deems this Award to be at Level 7 in the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.
Participants should have a Level 5 HR & Employment Law qualification and have at least two years’ experience working in the HR field.
Assessment is made via one oral exam/interview and two written assignments. There is no overall exam.
Roselyn Borg Knight
Roselyn has been practising law for the past 14 years. She graduated as a lawyer in 2002 and
practised employment law with the Malta Employers’ Association until 2006, when she moved
to the UK where she then set up her own boutique law firm, specialising in employment law.
She concentrated primarily on disputes concerning employment matters and represented both
employers and employees in Industrial Tribunal cases.
Roselyn returned to Malta in 2011 and set up Twenty-one Law.
Paul Gonzi
Paul is a lawyer specialising in Labour Law, Data Protection and TMT Law. After graduating with a Bachelor of Laws, Diploma of Notary Public and Doctor of Laws at the University of Malta in 2006, he earned his Master of Laws (LLM) in the subject grouping ‘Computer and Communications Law’ at Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London.
Ron Galea Cavallazzi
Ron is actively involved in Public Procurement, Aviation law, Employment and Industrial Relations, Information Technology, Energy and General Commercial law.
Ron's experience in the field of Public Procurement includes advice to local government entities and other contracting entities locally as well as international companies. He has handled a number of major procurement procedures. These include: Malta’s international airport, oil exploration and extraction projects, projects for the procurement of energy from a renewable source, the construction of a power generation plant and the procurement of an HVAC submarine interconnector cable.
Christine Calleja
Christine has assisted various local and international companies in human resources matters, such as contract drafting, unfair dismissal claims, transfers of business and collective redundancies, as well as represented clients before the Maltese Industrial Tribunal and courts. Christine has also participated in educational seminars organised for the human resources industry as lecturer in this field. Furthermore, forming part of the litigation team, Christine specialises in insurance claims, representing a major insurance company in Malta and also individual claimants in insurance related matters.
Antoine Camilleri
Antoine has experience in trademark enforcement, opposition and cancellation proceedings, trademark clearance, investigation, prosecution and management of domestic and international trademark portfolios.
He has represented a substantial number of multinational companies in anti-counterfeiting matters in collaboration with the Maltese Customs authorities, in particular in Customs cross-border measures and related Court litigation.
Antoine has also acted as (part-time) lecturer at the University of Malta in the Master of Laws (Magister Juris) in European & Comparative Law course (since 2003) and in the Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) course (since 2010), in both cases lecturing on intellectual property law. Antoine is also an examiner and supervisor of Doctor of Laws theses and Research Projects at the University of Malta.
Lara Pace
Lara regularly assists clients on legal and regulatory matters relating to drafting of employment contracts and other legal documentation as well as on issues relating to termination of employment, dismissals, redundancies, discrimination, industrial disputes and litigation connected to such matters. Lara also advises clients on general corporate and company law matters as well as environmental law issues. Lara holds a Master of Law in European Studies and was admitted to the Maltese Bar.
