Entry Criteria

There are no formal entry requirements, but participants will typically be practising junior or middle managers with the opportunity to meet the assessment demands and have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme.

Mode of Assessment

To achieve the ILM Certificate or Diploma in Coaching & Mentoring, candidates need to successfully complete two work based assignments and to plan, deliver and review at least 18 hours (Certificate) or 54 hours (Diploma) of coaching & mentoring respectively.

This module aims to give you the ability to critically review your own personal qualities, skills and competence.

  • Undertake and record at least twelve hours of formal coaching or mentoring activity with one or more clients
  • Reflect and review own management coaching or mentoring practice

In this module 12 hours of coaching and mentoring is required to obtain the Certificate in Coaching & Mentoring and 100 hours of coaching and mentoring is required to obtain the Diploma in Coaching & Mentoring

  • Assess your own skills, behaviours and knowledge as a coach and mentor
  • Critically review and reflect on the effectiveness of your own practice as a coach or mentor
  • Demonstrate how you have developed and how you plan to develop in the future as a coach or mentor
